removable prosthesis

What is a dental prosthesis?

A dental prosthesis is a specialty of dentistry that reconstructs partially destroyed teeth or replaces missing teeth. Its aim is to provide the patient with function, health, comfort, and esthetics. This treatment will help improve speech and chewing, in addition to providing better aesthetics through the correction of problems caused by missing, worn out, or poorly positioned teeth.

A dental prosthesis can be removable or fixed. They can replace a single tooth or multiple teeth.

Depending on the case, the prosthetic can be supported either on a root, tooth, implant or on the gums. The material used for making them can vary from metal, resin, ceramic, metal-ceramic, or porcelain.
